The European Tour moves to Kuala Lumpur G&CC this week for the Maybank Malaysian Open. The course is a 7000 yard par 72 with water featuring on a number of holes. Most holes allow some room off the tee. Kiradech Aphibarnrat won this event last year and it seems the non-European players go well on this course.
Name | Odds | Bookmaker | |
---|---|---|---|
Kiradech Aphibarnrat | 2pt each way 33-1 | Stan James |
Finishing position: 73 Back Kiradech Aphibarnrat Again |
Not the most original tip but we couldn’t resist the early 33-1 on offer for the defending champion. A talented, fiercely ambitious player, Aphibarnrat could pop up again this week on a course he loves. Like most in the field, he’s not played alot recently but he has the game and the confidence to contend once again. | |||
Alejandro Canizares | 2pt each way 45-1 | PaddyPower |
Finishing position: MC Back Alejandro Canizares Again |
Alejandro has had a super year, winning his second tournament. He’s also had a couple of other high finishes. With confidence high he could be a dangerous player this week at a pretty generous price. He’s had a T14 and T9 in the last four years and we can see a challenge from the Spaniard this week. | |||
Hennie Otto | 2pt each way 50-1 | PaddyPower |
Finishing position: T41 Back Hennie Otto Again |
We had a nice place win with Hennie a few weeks ago and are happy to back him again in Malaysia. He’s been in good cut-making form and his 5th at the Tschwane Open had been on the cards for a while. We like the look of his T7 in his only visit here in 2012 and are happy to consider him for another each way punt this week. |
